INSTALLATION

Upload all the files in this package to your /wp-content/plugins directory, maintaining the current directory structure. (You can skip this Installation text file.) Here’s what it should look like:

ACTIVATION

If you’ve uploaded the files properly, you should now see the DivShare Uploader in your Wordpress plugins list when you click on Plugins in the Admin (/wp-admin) section. To activate it, just click the “Activate” link to the right of the description.

KEY CONFIGURATION

Once the plugin is activated, you’ll see a new sub-tab on your Plugins page, called “DivShare Uploader Key.” Click on it, and you’ll be able to enter your DivShare key, which is a secret code that allows Wordpress to access your DivShare account without using your real password.

To generate a key, go to your DivShare Profile page:

On the right side of the screen, click the “Generate a Key” button. Your key will appear in the field above the button. Now, return to Wordpress and copy your key onto the “DivShare Uploader Key” page, then click “Update DivShare Key.”

IMPORTANT: Treat your DivShare Uploader Key like a password! It allows any Wordpress installation to access your account. If your key ever falls into the wrong hands, you can generate a new one on your DivShare profile page, using the same process described above.
USAGE

Once installed and configured, the DivShare Uploader will replace your standard Wordpress upload dialog (on the “Write Post” page) with a DivShare upload form. Just upload any files there, and follow the “add them to your post” link on the success page. This will display all the files on your DivShare dashboard, with links that will add the file directly to your post. Depending on the file type, you can add a text link, a variety of image sizes, or an embedded MP3 player.

You can access all the files you upload through Wordpress on your regular DivShare dashboard, and vice versa. If you want to check your dashboard without uploading any new files through Wordpress, just click the “My Files” tab in the Wordpress upload frame.
